And we have a red front door!

Popped past the house tonight on our way to dinner as I wanted to see if the painter had done the outside of the house. He hadnt done the eaves or the downpipes as yet but the front door has had its first coat and the inside looks done, I think from peeking in the windows!
I also saw this driveway today, does anyone know what it might be? It looked shiny...

  1. This is called polished concrete. Boral have a range in their BoralStone Expose' catalogue. It's kinda like expose aggregrate (the type you sworn to hate) but they grind the top surface flat and then polish, to give you the smooth finish.

  2. Red door looks awesome! :)

The driveway looks like it is polished concrete to me! You can get it with pieces of stone in it and they just polish over it with concrete..so its not a rough surface like exposed aggregate!

  3. Not recommended with external surfaces is the warning from Boral. I think you can have glass/sand additives to the final sealing coat so it's not so slippery.
