So got the quote back today from the blind company and the price for their shutters was absolutely ridiculous! So we went to see another company who quoted us less than half! We signed then and there and paid the deposit!
We then went out to the house and met the carpet guy who did a check measure of our carpet, that will get ordered tomorrow! The electrical was all done and working so we played with all the switches and fans while we were there! They must have smashed one of our kitchen pendant lights though as the bulb was just hanging from the cord.
We called it quits after that as it was stinking hot in Brisbane today, came home for a rest in the air-con as we finally have to go back to work tomorrow after a whole month off! We couldn't go back this week as our work was under water so tomorrow should be interesting! Oh well 2 day week then we stay at the Gold Coast Friday and Saturday night for Big Day Out on Sunday then a short week next week for Australia Day so that is a nice way to ease back in!
Here are a few more pics from today, it really starts to feel finished once the electrical has been fitted off. There is hardly anything left to do now: insulation, fly screens, clean, rainwater tank, site clean, little things to be fixed like there is no hole drilled for the washing machine pipes to get into the cupboard; appliances, paint touch up's. Am I missing anything?
Outdoor power points fitted off
One pendant light missing
Column lights
Junction box for future outdoor electrical
Under bench lights
Lit up
Light for the washing line area
Alfresco area
So could you please all send me any PC checklists you have so I can start compiling mine?
Thanks ;-)
I note from a lot of other blogs...they seem to forget about the TV Antenna?
ReplyDeleteCassandra,
ReplyDeleteI found these guys in Brisbane. They are painting our feature walls, and I discovered they do rendering also. They are very competitive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shqKlXmAC_I
