26/7/10 - Tile Selection Appointment

Tile selection appointment is now complete. There was some sort of 'computer' glitch so they weren't as prepared as I'd hoped when we arrived. They had to copy our plans to work from! Anyway I'm glad we had been to the tile studio a couple of times prior as it was so much easier having a fair idea what we wanted.

We ended up spending $1,074 over the standard as we added 450 x 450 tiles to the floors and there is a surcharge for these as their bigger than normal. Also we added the stripy tiles to the back wall of our ensuite shower and grey grout to this wall. We also added black glass mosaic's 25 x 25 to the main bathroom in a horizontal stripe across the top of the bath (2 wide) and a vertical stripe in the shower (4 wide). We also added these in a stripe across the laundry splashback (2 wide).

Then added in polished silver trims around the bath hob, on the edges of ensuite shower niche and on the edges of dwarf wall to the main bathroom. All in all we're really happy with our selections.

The light grey tile is the floor tile in everyroom (450x450). The white is the wall tile to the wet areas (400x250 laid horizontally). The dark grey tile is the niche tile (100x300 laid vertically). The stripy tile is the back wall of the ensuite shower (300x600 laid horizontally).
