Headed out to our block about 1.30pm today and the same 6 concretors were just finishing off. I was very impressed to see their attention to detail finishing off and cleaning up. They even swept the footpath!

sOOOO happy to see our slab! Had our first celebratory dinner at the Pig N Whistle with the inlaws tonight to celebrate our first progress payment! lol!

Its really interesting seeing the different siting of homes in different areas in terms of backyard space - our council regs meant we were supposed to leave ELEVEN metres between our rear wall and back fence but luckily for us we have land behind us that belongs to a bowling club that wont ever be built on so we received permission to leave only 9 metres!

ReplyDeleteThanks Shayne. Yes lets hope we get some sunshine to get the frame up now! Yes the new building reg's in our area say you have to get a certain number of people per m2 so this means the blocks are getting smaller, the yards are getting tiny but there are a lot of parks which is good for us as there is one right over the road! I wish'd we could have had a yard but we bought the biggest block there was for sale, 572m2!
