Retaining Wall tomorrow!
Well another visit to the block last night and as you can see its still pretty muddy! The wall is due to be built tomorrow (Sat 2nd) so fingers crossed the rain holds off.
We were super surprised to see the polystyrene has been delivered for the slab and not only that, but the frames, trusses and bracing have all been delivered too! Slow down Metricon, we still need this wall to go in!
Our rocks were finally delivered on Tuesday but now the frame surrounds them so could make getting to them a bit hard! We're really happy with the extra cutting thats been done for the wall although there is a lot of rock! That should be fun to deal with later!
There has also been some steel posts delivered, not sure what these are for. Bit peeved people are already starting to use our bin though :(
Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon ill be posting retaining wall pictures and handing posession of the block back to our supervisor to get going. He wont be able to use lack of product as an excuse for things going slow now! Lets hope his tradies are ready to go!

Good luck! I hope the wall goes in for you with no issues.
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog for a little while now so I hope everything starts to run smoothly for you guys soon :) Once they start it all happens really fast!
We are on Day 31 since site start (also with metricon) & already our bricklayers are a day away from needing scaffolding for the the 2nd floor.
Its been a long road to get here for us but now its moving really quickly so its all worth it!
Thanks, its good to know it happens fast once they start. Supervisor just rang actually and he reckons he'll need that frame by Thursday. He has tradies ready to go as soon as our wall is done. They must be a bit quiet! Great news for us! Hopefully they will make up for time we've lost!
ReplyDeleteCongrats and good luck!
ReplyDeleteAre your neighbours going halves with you re: retaining?
No unfortunately this doesnt affect them and is totally on our block so all our cost :(
