Site Cut Photos

Went out to the block Friday after work and it all looks good and quite big apart from out problem corner! They have cut and battered it so much that we now need to put in a retaining wall before Metricon progress with the build. If we dont we will have no back yard, not good when we only have 3m there as it is!

We met a retaining wall contractor on site today who can build us a 35m (20m across the back and 15m down the right hand side) sandstone wall on Thursday as long as this weather holds up! We're going to keep it to a maximum of 1m high to save on approvals and engineering!

Quite a hit to our budget we weren't completely expecting but its necessary we do this now while we have the access to. It will also solve problems with water running off the blocks above us.

  1. HI Guys - things are moving along! Did you plans indicate that retaining was going to be needed?

  2. not at the back where this one is going! they had said we needed one at the front left but thats only like 500mm high so not necessary. we didnt think the back would be a problem and they didnt either. they battered it so steep/slopey that we would have no backyard if we didnt do this :(
